How does your site calculate sales tax?

Fishpond is required by law to collect sales tax on orders shipped to CA and WA. Where required, tax is also applied to shipping, handling, gift wrap and/or food items. Please note that for states not listed, your purchase may be subject to use tax unless it is specifically exempt from taxation. Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. Many states require purchasers to file an annual sales/use tax return to report all the taxable purchases made without corresponding sales tax charged, and to pay use tax on those purchases when filing the tax return.
